Research + Advocacy Internships
Students wanting to increase public awareness on complex issues benefit from our Research and Advocacy internships. Working with one of the Institute's 150+ partners, including the following organizations, interns gain experience and tools;, increasing the impact of their message.
Highlighted Internship
Provocate, Building the World's Biggest Think Tank, One Event at a Time – Laura (English, Goshen College) loves building global awareness among Indianapolis residents. Her work at Provocate was to inform others about opportunities to study global issues and inspire them to get involved locally. Laura learned the ins and outs of collaboration between diverse organizations that address global issues and made recommendations on developing better connections. She supported numerous events that brought information to the public on topics like refugees in Indianapolis, how to work to influence the Chinese government and the impact of undocumented workers on public education.

YPress – The young journalists at YPress are eager to work with an intern who can support their endeavors to give voice to other youths impacted by global and local issues. Interns facilitate student groups as they choose their topics, formulate questions, conduct interviews, and write and edit copy. Stories range from local mental health services available to teens to the impact of AIDS on African youth and everything in between and are published weekly in the Indianapolis Star.
